Aboutyu is a laid-back café tucked away on the first floor at Jalan Lazat 2 in Happy Garden, offering a semi open-air setting that draws on natural elements like wood and greenery to create a relaxed, quiet atmosphere. This spot tends to attract tea lovers and those who appreciate a casual, unhurried cafe vibe, making it a good choice for weekday afternoons or weekends when you want to escape the city buzz without venturing too far.

The menu here leans into fusion flavors with a surprising variety for a café, stretching beyond the typical coffee-and-cake routine. Beef steak pasta and pork belly dishes stand out for their balance of texture and taste, while seafood options and creative drinks like lychee kombucha and triple layer Genmaicha add a fresh twist. Portions are comfortably sized, so it’s well suited for those looking for a solid meal alongside their tea or coffee.

Locals seem to appreciate the thoughtful interplay between the food and the drink selection. The café’s extensive tea options provide an inviting draw for enthusiasts, even though some of the latte offerings can be a bit modest in size. The space's pet-friendly policy and semi-open layout mean it's a natural choice for visitors who want to bring along their furry friends without sacrificing comfort or flavor.

Service is attentive, though it’s wise to expect some wait time during peak hours. The overall experience is one of enjoying well-prepared, fusion-inspired dishes in an understated environment where the focus isn’t just on quick bites but on lingering, tasting, and unwinding. The natural light filtering in and the tranquil design make Aboutyu a spot for calm conversations, casual lunches, or a quiet midweek tea break.

I've been here several times. Absolutely enjoyed the food. They have an interesting spread for a café, really love the fusion flavours as they remind me of home. It is also very reasonably priced. The café has a chill, open air concept, quiet space. There's wood and touches of nature in every corner. Great place for tea enthusiast, they have a wide selection of teas. Although limited and depending on availability, their cake selections are wonderful as well finish your meal on a sweet note. The owner of the café is always present, greeting and serving you with all smiles. Overall, quite impressed by their selections considering it's a fairly young and new place catered for smaller groups. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood!

Our 1st visit to this unassuming place, curious with the pets. Ordered platter of baked perch, crunchy pork belly, grilled chicken and octopus karaage. Added beef pasta. Each items were cooked to perfection, popcorn crunchiness with the pork belly and octopus. Dishes were well complemented with the homemade sauce. Photos did not do justice. Definitely tasted much better than it looked. Worth next visit to try other items!

Lovely little pet friendly cafe located at the 1st floor with a semi open air concept. I really enjoy the food, taste is well balanced and the portion is adequate. The three layered matcha cake is delicious, you can taste three different texture of matcha in one cake. The matcha and hojicha latte is a bit disappointing tho, it’s a really tiny cup and the milk bubbles are quite coarse.

This quaint 1st-floor restaurant offers decent food in a pet-friendly environment. Their nasi lemak is good, but the sambal is on the sweeter side, missing the spicy punch. The karaage chicken Don is as expected, nothing to shout about. Chicken pomodoru is also too sweet, expecting a strongee tomato punch. Service is attentive, but expect a wait for the food to arrive.

We visited this cafe for early dinner with our 3 doggies. Love this spacious and bright cafe filled with beautiful arrangements of nature. Being surrounded by plants, fishes and even a bearded dragon brought peace and happiness to our hearts. The lady boss was friendly and thoughtful. She offered complimentary snacks to my doggies. Food was delicious, served in a good portion and reasonably priced. Kudos to Chef! Will definitely be back for more (^_^)

I rarely do reviews. Thus is my 2nd time here and the food is definitely worth my drive from Shah Alam. I've tried the perch, fish & chips and baked chicken. All were rated hotel quality at a fraction of the price. The restaurant is actually named The Willow and is on the ground floor. This place is really unknown but serves great food. Will definitely come back.

Food: just don't order the lamb stew. It was really swimming in a super thick layer of oil. Yes I know lamb will be oily but this is really excessive. Taste like mouthful of oil that you're drinking. Tea was good. Cake was really meh. Forgettable. Nothing u'd want to come back for. With 1 hit and 2 missed. I'll probably give this place one last try before totally striking it out to rule out it's just me choosing the wrong things. Husbie said the nasi lemak was good tho. Serving was also super slow. ------------ Ok 2nd time. Updated images and review Food was better now and faster when serving. Potato for fried fish was undercooked. But service is good cause they changed it up with some grilled vegetables and I generally enjoyed the dish. Unfortunately we came when they had water supply issue so they served the matcha drinks in cheap plastic takeaway cups. Which was a bummer. Tried their best selling hojicha matcha cake. I think it was ok. Not great. Bottom layer a bit hard. So conclusion is that it's not fully a strike out place. But certainly have some room for improvement.
